At Bronte, we design caps for all kinds of use for women and men and with various features: there are, for example, sun protection caps with high UV protection, caps with extra wide peaks, very light caps etc.

Summer Caps

The braided straw caps for women like Linda/B and Emma come with wide peaks to give you shade and protect your skin and eyes against the sunlight and heath. The peak of the Emma cap offers SPF50 protection, while the crochet crown is airy. 

We select Italian and British fabrics for our summer cap range.

Our Italian linens are very light in weight plus airy, which makes them very suitable as summer caps. The Linton Tweeds are more glamorous and are perfect for spring.

You will enjoy picking your summer cap from your bag when the sun surprises you in the spring and summer. For men, we use soft cotton and linens for our flat caps like Mark and newsboy-style caps like Rocky. There are also unisex baseball caps like Bram that vary in character and look depending on the type of fabric. At Bronté, we use linings made of natural fibres like cotton or viscose for our caps.

Linton Tweed & Harris Tweed Caps

Sometimes, the fabric we have found is scarce and perfect for a quirky, fashionable cap series, like the Linton Tweeds caps we make in limited editions. We love to combine a super casual look with a precious and classy fabric, as with Linton Tweeds.

We also use the heritage Harris Tweeds in many colour variations and rich Italian wools for our winter cap styles like Romee, Shipper and Bram. And for extreme winter walks, we make double-function caps that protect against snow, rain, and cold weather.

Storage

By the end of the season, it is time to store your cap correctly. Depending on the composition and make, you can handwash or have your caps dry-cleaned. When you wash a cotton cap, f.e, use mild shampoo or detergent in hand-warm water. Rinse the cap and remove the water by carefully pressing the cap between two layers of a towel without deforming the firm peak. Put a small towel (20x20 cm) in the hat, and shape it in the form it used to have. Please leave it to dry entirely and flat in an airy room, balcony, or garden. Once it is dry, put some tissue paper in the cap. Store a clean cap in a closed plastic bag to avoid moths eating holes in your cap.
